Episode 4: Recognizing Intersex in Abrahamic Religions.
Does intersex studies face a "joy deficit?" Does an understanding focus on suffering lead to a failure to imagine even the possibility of intersex joy? A recent special issue of Feminist Studies explores this question. In this podcast, Peter Hegarty is joined by its editors; Celeste Orr from the University of New Brunswick and Casey Burkholder from Concordia University. Two other contributors to the special issue, Chris Brou from the Illinois State University and Carey Gabriel-Costello from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee add their slants to the conversation.
